Jennifer - Why don’t you just get the beneficiaries to sign receipts wherein they detail their wire instructions and your PR then wires the funds to Norway based on the instructions they signed?

Wire it out in U.S. dollars and let the incoming back take care of conversion to Norwegian Krone. Wire out fees are cost of administration on our end. Wire-in fees are their problem in Norway as are the varying conversion rates different banks will charge on the receiving end. Wire fees should be about $50 per wire. Your PR in Norway should be able to submit their wire request to the U.S. bank via fax.

I assume your question is re: mechanics to get the funds out - not Norwegian inheritance tax or forced share rights and whether those apply or even exist - I have no idea.
