[WSBAPT] PR Not Responding / Attorney Lien statute

While you can file an attorney lien in the probate action, you cannot place a lien on real estate per the statute on attorney's liens.  You have to have a judgment in order to file with the recorder's office to appear as a lien on title.

There is a case on point ... I'd have to research it to provide as I can't remember the name.

That is a great question. I am beginning to find myself in the same position. The creditors are beginning to get impatient. What are our fiduciary responsibilities in situations like these? Also, do I/we look at placing a lien on the real estate for our services? I haven't been paid yet.
