[WSBAPT] Estate filed... then find out one opened & closed

I have a new problem.  I opened a probate on behalf of a deceased defendant who was involved in a MVA prior to his death.  I was appointed Administrator in Thurston County and when I sent my Ntc of Pendency to potential heirs/family, a brother called and said he had opened and closed a Thurston County probate in 2014.  When I had researched online at www.courts.wa.gov<http://www.courts.wa.gov> , the old filing didn't come up...

I have reopened estates before for this very purpose.  I am well within the statute of limitations to dismiss new estate and re-file re-opening the estate.  Is this necessary or can I proceed in the estate that is opened?  Is only one estate in WA allowed for each deceased person?  I didn't find anything in RCW 11 statute ...
