Marcus,
If the guardianship is a Title 11 guardianship, there is a procedure in RCW 11.88.125 for the standby guardian to assume the duties of the guardian during a planned absence.

I have a situation where there is a court appointed guardian for minors. The guardian is going to be out of the country for work. What is the method for the guardian to bestow authority on another to handle the affairs of the minor, such as medical decisions, etc.? Does the guardian execute a power of attorney granting the attorney in fact powers over the minors? If not, what alternative methods are available?
