I would call the state Dept. Of Archaeology. Maybe a native remains that
are federally required for tribal repatriation under the Native Anerican
Graves Repatriation Act. I would take it very seriously.

Subject: [WSBAPT] Unique Invebtory Item

Listmates,

I represent an estate that happens to have amongst its assets, a human
skull.

It was apparently acquired by an ancestor of the decedent while hiking in
the Southwest in the 1940’s, and has been a member of the family ever
since. However, none of the beneficiaries of the estate are interested in
taking responsibility for the care and custody of the skull.

Simply dumping it in the trash would seem to invite more problems than it
would solve.

My question: How does one properly dispose of an item such as this?

Regards,

Tim
