Wasting Money

Let me get this straight: In order to improve east-west access, the city of Moscow is spending nearly $600,000 on a car bridge that connects Third Street to Mountain View.

It will then spend hundreds of thousands more to obstruct the flow of traffic on Third Street so bikes can "safely" mingle with motorized vehicles.

As a result, drivers who don't want to run the gauntlet or risk hitting a bicyclist will avoid using Third Street.

Instead, they will use a street that already connects to Mountain View (e.g. Sixth).

Exactly what will spending upwards of $1 million in taxes on this project accomplish?
