[Vision2020] All 50 United States License Plates, Ranked

I can imagine that one on a convertible in a Fourth of July parade!

The first thing I noticed was the exclamation point, which is
unavailable now, as far as I know.

Were punctuation characters available, I would predict requests for ?,
#, @, and $ right away, followed by others.

Then I noticed that there are nine characters, counting the space.
Someone will claim that is too many, but there is a solution.

LED license plates with digital displays.  The image of the regular
state license plate would flash on the plate display every few seconds,
with the rest of the time devoted to images, messages, and warnings
selected by the driver.

Aside from the few predictably rude messages from the driver ahead to
the driver following, and the inevitable distraction messages, rude or
not, would cause, there might be an advertising income opportunity
should such display devices become sufficiently commonplace to warrant
paying for ad space.

P.S.:  Google just informed me that some Californian officials discussed
a similar idea nearly eight years ago.  -- KM
