Linda Pall to challenge Moscow Mayor Bill Lambert this fall
Friday flurry means candidates filed for nearly every seat in Latah County cities
The largest city in Latah County could have a new mayor and significantly different City Council next year.
Linda Pall, a Moscow attorney and former member of the City Council, will challenge incumbent Moscow Mayor Bill Lambert this fall.
Challengers Robb Parish and Brandy Sullivan will try to unseat two of three incumbent Moscow city councilors - Art Bettge, Gina Taruscio and Walter Steed - who are seeking re-election to four-year terms. Incumbent Councilor John Weber faces challenger Anne Zabala in a race for the one available two-year council position.
Declarations of candidacy for Latah County cities must have been filed with city clerks no later than 5 p.m. Friday for the Nov. 7 election. Individuals who run as write-in candidates must file a declaration of intent by 5 p.m. Oct. 10.
The following individuals filed for candidacy on Friday as of 5 p.m.:
Bovill: Mike Porter, who currently fills a council seat, and newcomer Chris Childers filed for mayor to replace Duane Linderman. Mary Langer and Lonnie Olson are vying for Council Seat No. 2 while Kristen Riddle filed for the No. 4 seat. Both seats are four-year terms.
Deary: Jamie Johnston filed for a four-year council position. No one had filed for one council seat.
Juliaetta: No one had filed for one four-year council position.
