Cruz campaign plans North Idaho visit Saturday
U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, battling for delegate victories in Super Tuesday voting, plans to visit North Idaho on Saturday, according to his campaign’s state director.

Norm Semanko, a Boise attorney and executive director of the Idaho Water Users Association, said he received “official word from the Cruz Campaign” that the Republican presidential hopeful will appear that afternoon at the North Idaho Fairgrounds inside the Jacklin Event Building. The doors will open at 1 p.m.

Idaho hosts its GOP primary on March 8.

The results of this week’s Super Tuesday primaries and caucuses, with 595 delegates to be awarded, could propel Cruz into close contention with GOP frontrunner Donald Trump. Or it could spell the end of his campaign.

Cruz is campaigning Tuesday in his home state of Texas, where 155 GOP delegates are at stake. If he doesn’t win the primary there, many political observers say he won’t have a path to the party’s nomination.
