Climbers Scale Frozen Palouse Falls in Believed First
Two professional climbers scaled the frozen Palouse Falls this weekend in an effort that surprised bystanders and State Park officials. Jesse Roskelley and Scott Coldirons, both experienced climbers, used the ice to make their ascent. Roskelly has climb Mount Everest, so jaunting up the frozen Palouse falls might have appeared more manageable. Still, State Parks Officials believe this is the first time such a feat has been managed on these falls. The also noted the increase rescues at the falls, 13 since the start of 2015. That increase has been costly and dangerous to the State, they advise using caution when visiting the Park as the terrain at Palouse Falls is steep and remote.
