LONDON — There are plenty of police dogs out there, so why don't we have any police cats?

That was the perfectly reasonable question sent in to Durham Constabulary recently by 5-year-old Eliza, who made a strong case for the use of crime-fighting felines.

She does have some pretty convincing arguments, to be fair.
Chief Constable Michael Barton obviously thought so too — he sent Eliza the following reply, assuring her that her suggestion would be passed on up the chain.

What a brilliant exchange.

Mashable reached out to Durham Police, who emailed photocopies of the letters and confirmed that they did indeed come from Chief Constable Mike Barton.
