City of Moscow Police Department Releases Names of Suspect and Shooting
Victims in January 10 Shooting


January 10, 2015 (Moscow, Idaho) - The City of Moscow Police Department has
released the names of the victims in the January 10, 2015 shooting in
Moscow, Idaho.  The deceased victims include Moscow businessman David Trail
76 yoa, Arby's restaurant manager Belinda Niebuhr 47 yoa, and the suspect's
adoptive mother and Moscow Family Medicine Physician's Assistant Terri
Grzebielski 61 yoa.  Also injured in the assault was Seattle resident
Michael Chin 39 yoa.

 

The suspect has been identified as Moscow resident John Lee, age 29. 

 

Information developed by law enforcement indicates that Lee shot Grzebielski
at her residence in the 400 block of Veatch Street in Moscow.    

 

Another shooting occurred at the offices of Northwestern Mutual Life
Insurance at 303 E Third Street in Moscow at 2:31 p.m.  Moscow businessman
David Trail and Michael Chin were shot by Lee during that encounter and
Trail was transported to Pullman Regional Hospital and declared dead.  Chin
was transported to Gritman Medical Center and is currently listed in
critical condition. 

 

A third shooting occurred at the Arby's restaurant in Moscow, located at 150
Peterson Drive.  Lee entered the restaurant and asked for the manager.  Lee
then produced a weapon and opened fire. Neibuhr was transported to Gritman
Medical Center and was declared dead. 

 

Lee fled in a black Honda. Pullman agencies then observed the vehicle near
Pullman, Washington.  Authorities attempted to stop the vehicle and pursuit
ensued.  The vehicle crashed at milepost 47 on Highway 195 at 3:20 p.m. The
suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Whitman County jail.  

 

Law enforcement from the City of Moscow, Latah County, Idaho State Police,
as well as Washington agencies, are continuing to investigate the incident.
