PRESS RELEASE
Multiple Vandalisms

August 6, 2015 (Moscow, Idaho) - On Wednesday, August 5, 2015, after 10:00 p.m., officers began responding to multiple reports of vehicle and business windows being shot by BB gun projectiles. Vandalism reports continued throughout the evening of August 5 and into the morning hours of Thursday, August 6, 2015.  The following property owners have reported door and/or window glass panel damage:


*       Hastings, 2230 West Pullman Road

*       Joann Fabrics, 1730 West Pullman Road

*       McDonalds, 1404 West Pullman Road

*       Wendy's, 1030 West Pullman Road

*       Arby's, 150 Peterson Drive

*       Former Ambassador Auto Building, 525 West 3rd Street

*       Revolution Motor Sports, 200 West E Street

*       Moscow High School, 400 East 5th

*       Moscow Middle School, 1410 East D Street

*       Hamilton-Lowe Aquatics Center, 800 N. Mountain View Road

*       Hamilton Indoor Recreation Center, 1724 East F Street

As the perpetrators drove through Moscow they also shot at random vehicles. At this time 35 vehicles sustained damage as a result of BB impacts.

Officer Keith Davis followed up on a possible lead to these malicious injury reports and developed probable cause to arrest Jonathan Walters, 18 years of age, of Moscow for felony malicious injury. A 17 year old juvenile male has also been identified as a principle to these malicious injuries and charges are being forward to Youth Services at this time.

This investigation remains on-going and the Moscow Police Department is asking anyone with additional information related to these vandalisms to please call 883-7054.
