Here in Arizona, one not need have a concealed weapon permit, as it is not
required by law. A gun, concealed, or not, can be carried almost anywhere.
However, there are restricted places where concealed weapons are not
allowed. BARS, SCHOOLS, including universities, (if it is against their
rules), inside jails, at a polling place on election day.. (not sure if AZ
serves alcohol on election day..) Also, a private business may put a sign
up. "Firearms not allowed in this building" Which is common in medical
buildings, and some stores.

Maricopa County is a very violent place to live. Recently, there was an
incident downtown, where 3-4 men robbed a strip club. Things got out of
hand and ran a muck, as they often do in these kind of situations. A
Phoenix Police Officer was shot, as was one of Sheriff Joe's off duty posse
members... Sad thing was, one of the men grew up in Moscow, and at one
time, had a promising basketball career in front of him, until life
intervened.

Someone stole from a shopping mall, and some guy drew his gun and shot him.
I could go on and on..

To be honest, seldom to do I think of being shot by someone. People are
going to get a gun regardless if they need to apply for a permit or not..
Just like hard drugs, the guns are here. I'm more concerned about the crazy
drivers behind the wheel of a multi-ton weapon, than a gun in the hand of
someone. Most of the gun deaths down here are someone shooting somebody
they know... That said.. I never go out after dark.

Oh, one more thing which happened recently. On facebook, there are groups
of people who have online garage sales.. So, I joined one in my area..
There were 8k people in this group. On the SECOND day, some guy puts up an
ad for 9 GUNS!! Two were semi-automatic. I looked at those guns and
wondered where they had been and where they were going.. the guy selling
them had a thuggish look to him. Am I prejudging him by his looks? With 9
guns for sale, I think not! I kind of freaked out, called the police, and
was told it was legal. Quit that facebook group then and there. It is
supposed to be against facebook policy to sells guns in these groups.
However, there is no definitive way to report guns being for sale.

I don't drink, but if I did, there is no way I'd go into a bar of crazy
drunk people. I used to tend bar at The Garden, and North Idaho Cowboy Bar
in Troy.. people who are normally very nice when sober, can, and do get
ornery as a bear in a bee hive after two too many.

Hope everyone is well, and your first day of Spring is a warm one!
