'Nother thing . .

Had the U.S. House of Representatives tabled the senate's "Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act" of 2013, Senate Bill 744, instead of voting to shut down the government in October, we may not have the problems we are currently experiencing.

Sidebar: Congress gets paid even if the government is shut down. Too bad we can't say the same thing about the immediate families, beneficiaries of survivor benefit plans, of two service members killed in Afghanistan that month.
