Once the mall is constructed, it has been said and documented that property values of properties surrounding the Hawkins Mall will increase amost ten-fold.

Does anybody know who owns property surrounding the mega-mall? Wally?

But, it's still a very bad idea, in my opinion, to pave over more land and put up unneeded buildings, etc. The corridor is just going to get worse than it is. I just hate to see this. But I realize if some think they can make money or benefit in some way by developing the corridor and/or build the mall, it will happen. I don't have to like it or agree with the reasons.

The only way they can stay in business is to grow the property tax base. That's why they're hot to grow business in the corridor.

The fields are nice (if they would take the Hawkins signs down) and why do we need another mall right next to the Palouse Mall? I rarely go there and can't imagine what the Hawkins Mall will have that I would shop at.

Occasionally these get much needed facelifts and subsequently look much better. It'd be nice to see a concept drawing of how things would look from the highway.
