[Vision2020] Henry V and courage

Thanks, Deb. Sadly, too few of us get what is going on. And yet, in
absolute fairness Doug has made no secret of his plans, it’s just most folks
either didn’t bother to look into his schemes or think he is kidding. He
isn’t. We are the “other,” outside the Covenant (again, Doug has made this
plain) and consequently fair game. Curiously, we are Goliath and his
henchmen pretend they are David. I have always wondered how he collects and
keeps men who park their consciences’ at the door of the Logos Gym or Anselm
house and just plain enjoy his perspective because men rule and women obey,
cook, clean, and deliver eleventy-twelve babies on a regular basis. . .
Cult hardly begins to describe it.

And yet, one day, possibly sooner than Doug fears, it is my hope that a
small but committed cadre of decent men and women immune and unafraid of his
collection of congregational secrets, will come to their senses, invite Doug
(and his relatives) to relinquish the cathedra and step aside or find his
plump old keister sitting on the curb of Washington Street with piles of
videos and self-published books in the gutter beside him.

I like to imagine the scene as an amended version of Henry V’s St.
Crispin’s Day Speech (apologies to the Bard) – who knows, perhaps the coup
is set for October 25.

“They that shall live this day, and see old age,
Will yearly on the vigil feast with neighbours,
And say “To-morrow is Saint Crispian.”
Then will they bare their souls and reveal the Kirkish scars,
And say “These wounds I healed on Crispian’s day.”
Old people forget; yet all shall be forgot,
But they’ll remember, with advantages,
What feats they did that day. Then shall our names,
Familiar in our mouth as household words-

[names removed to protect the innocents]

Be in their flowing cups freshly rememb’red.
This story shall the parent teach the child;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne’er go by,
>From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-

We few, we happy few, we band of saints;
For they to-day that braves the dragon
Shall be my brother or sister; be they ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle their condition;

And kirkers in here and abroad now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs’d they were not here,
And know their conscience small whiles any speaks
Of those who stood united upon Saint Crispin’s day.

Yours for a happier tomorrow, a united community, and doing good and
providing support to those who need it..

Spot on, Rose! Nailed it. But will any of the neo-lefties even understand
it? So busy making sure they buy the right products and keeping everything
"nice" that they fail to realize they are being played, as you said, by the
professional players. Doug and his ilk are not someones with whom to be
making "nice". They are committed, scarey, and a real and present danger to
anyone who really wants "nice" on the Palouse. When our "liberals" finally
get it, it will be too late. You cannot befriend these people. They are
committed to using, eating, subsuming, enslaving, or stoning anyone outside
their belief system. And they have a long-range plan (for all you SciFi
folks:They are the Borg). But convincing "nice People" they are being used
is a losing battle......"nice" people think with love and engagement they
can win the day. JUST CRAP.

Subject: [Vision2020] Joe Long and his recent letter to the editor

Recently, the Daily News published a letter to the editor from Mr. Joe Long
wherein he excoriates “liberals” and “Christophobes.” He emphasized that
the “highway of hate was a two way street.” I don’t self-identify myself
as liberal and I am certainly not a Christophobe (what a curious term), but
Mr. Long and I do share a similar notion of boycotting businesses when we
have profound philosophical disagreements with the owner’s political or
religious agendas.

For example, I don’t spend a penny of my money at ventures owned by members
of Christ Church. People who are defenders of the claim that the earth is
less than ten thousand years old, who deny global warming, who delight in
homophobia, who practice patriarchy, who celebrate the antebellum
Confederacy, who sponsor a one week “course” in biblical counseling which is
predicated on the absurd notion that sin is the cause of mental health
issues, and provide a living to a pastor, Doug Wilson, who with all the
immaturity of a junior high bully, gleefully publishes screeds that include
ugly, childish slurs directed at members of GLBT community (today the
headline of his blog reads <http://dougwils.com/> “Circumlocutions and
Faggotré”) have every right to do so, but not on my dime.

But, this is all old hat stuff from me and doesn’t surprise any of you.
Surprise!!!! This email is actually not directed at the insufferable toadies
of the Kirk, but rather, the deliberately naïve morons who proudly wear
their liberal label as though it was a Metal of Honor. The plain,
unvarnished truth is that you silly naïfs, who self-justify your silence
because you are “building bridges” to members of Christ Church, are being
played by pros. Devout members of the Kirk are cult members who understand
and use non-members as a means to an end: money, votes, social access, etc.
Astonishingly, you are either thick as a plank or so self-aggrandizing that
you believe their flattery and appreciate their attention. This community
is moving toward the completion of Doug Wilson’s goal – a community shaped
and directed through his (not yours) vision of the City on the Hill.

For once, Ayn Rand was spot on when she wrote “
<http://www.quotationspage.com/quote/1776.html> The spread of evil is the
symptom of a vacuum. Whenever evil wins, it is only by default: by the moral
failure of those who evade the fact that there can be no compromise on basic
principles.”
