ND man arrested in Idaho with 56 lbs of marijuana

CHUBBUCK, Idaho (AP) - A 24-year-old North Dakota man was arrested after an Idaho State Police officer found 56 pounds of marijuana in his vehicle as he traveled through southeastern Idaho.

The ISP says Cameron J. Victor's vehicle was stopped on Interstate 86 near Chubbuck on Monday afternoon.

Victor, of Fargo, N.D., was arrested on suspicion of trafficking marijuana and booked into the Bannock County jail.

Fifty-six pounds of marijuana?  That almost qualifies as a megaload.

Some quick math . . .

Had this marijuana made its way to the state of Washington where . . .

- Recreational marijuana sells (on the low end) for $80 per quarter of an ounce.

- 56 pounds of marijuana was confiscated.

The estimated retail value of the confiscated marijuana, in the state of Washington, is approximately $300,000.

But, since this occurred in Idaho, this guy is probably going to prison.
