Perhaps - I'm not sure where it's coming from.

Sadly, no women were inducted that evening Sue. Honestly, I can't recall attending any induction ceremonies where women were being honored / inducted. I don't go to them anymore. Most of those guys are into self-promotion anyway so the acceptances typically intro with 'I'd like to thank my wife' followed by a long winded speech recapping their entire self described 'brilliant careers'. I'm not sure exactly what qualifications are required for being included in the UI Hall of Fame but I imagine your chances improve in a linear fashion based on how much money potential candidates have donated. And the biggest spenders might also get an honorary doctorate thrown in as an added bonus. Yet another example of fat white male entitlement I suppose. :(

Why is this? Women are obviously far smarter than men, infinitely more intuitive, are capable of multitasking, and can live just fine without men. The only thing I can figure is that men can actually collaborate and get along with each other and can form a united front and a powerful structure whereas women are vicious and catty to each other so they're left to just fend for themselves. Typically even when a guy cheats on his wife and is painfully obviously in the wrong, other women blame the wife, and just as bad the wife accepts responsibility. I find this to be puzzling.

I was at a UI Hall of Fame induction ceremony a few years and every single one of the 5 guys that was being inducted for whatever great achievement they were being recognized for said they would be nothing were it not for their wives. One guy even said he'd be dead if it wasn't for his wife. My take was that they should have inducted the wives into the UI Hall of Fame and thus given credit where it was due.

I think the reason why the Doug Wilson's and other ultra conservatives of the world are so hell bent on keeping women oppressed is because they know damn well they'd take over the world if given a quarter of a chance.

My favorite political science professor, in referring to males worldwide and historically having "unearned and unacknowledged packages of personal privilege." Can one argue the condition has disappeared? I certainly think not.

It’s a phrase that’s popular in our home to describe an unearned sense of entitlement often exhibited by fat (meaning not economically disadvantaged) white men particularly. Another way I’ve heard it phrased is “It’s a rich white man’s problem,” when whining about such important topics as having to drive too far to have a luxury auto serviced, not being able to order Kobe beef at the local restaurant, and no first class seats available for a 90 minute flight. Wayne’s public whine-fest about the Mayor not immediately dropping everything to take his call about the barricades placed – or misplaced – on his property by the street department strikes me as a similar kind of thing. Maybe I run in the wrong circles, but I don’t know a single person other than Wayne Price who would expect to have the mayor on the kind of string Wayne thinks he’s entitled to have, especially without having tried a really simple self-help thing like calling the street department FIRST. Mind you, my reaction would have been different had Wayne said something like, “Hey – I called the street department two days ago about the barricades on my property but haven’t gotten a response yet, and I’m worried because we’re coming up on a weekend.” But, that’s not what happened, is it? Rather, anyone with connected brain cells can see that it was just an excuse to advocate for his mayoral candidate – Bill “The Bully” Lambert – while taking a cheap shot at current mayor. <Sense of unearned fat white man entitlement much, Wayne?>

What does this mean? I googled it but didn't hit on anything that looked viable so I trimmed the fat down to 'white entitlement' and got a hit on 'white privilege' which in the first paragraph says can be compared / combined with the concept of 'male privilege'.

I'm against discrimination in any form that negatively affects affirmative action / equal opportunity. I also happen to be a white male, but had no choice in the matter since I was born that way.
