Agreed. Not a hate group per se. And I am certain that this sort of cloister would only attract the finest racially/culturally tolerant folks.

Darrell,

I agree, though I have to add that someone posted about them last month; I think it was Tom.

I am the original poster of this topic.  I never called it a hate group.  I called them survivalists.  I think Roger Hayes changed the subject to a hate tagline.  What say you, Roger?

I'm with Roger on this. Maybe they're complete nut jobs, but I don't know that they're a hate group.

What is the evidence behind that claim?

I do not know anything about this group, but how does anyone know that they are a hate group?  A little bit wako probably, but not necessarily a hate group.Roger

How's this for "freedom""

My father was a POW in Stalag Luft IIIA during the last year and a half of WW2.  I am convinced that he experienced less isolation than the freedom-loving residents of the Citadel.

Anyone heard of this groups plans for building a walled community in
Benewah county? They claim to have already purchased twenty acres on top of
a mountain, with a goal of 3000 more.

They call themselves The Citadel, claim to be practicing Thomas Jefferson's
"Rightful Liberty."

Yep-That's the one!  Always good to have our little slice of heaven in the

Agreed.  And they'll start with a firearms factory.

Have you read their Patriot Agreement?  They sure do think weapons
proficiency is patriotic!

Whole thing reads wacky to me.  Makes me want to laugh, ala The Colbert
Report Tom linked.  But, so did the Aryan Nations before they actually went
ahead and set-up a compound...
