PRESS RELEASE
Moscow Parks and Recreation Master Plan Opportunities for Public Review

August 22, 2013 (Moscow, Idaho) - The City of Moscow and the Moscow Parks and Recreation Commission invite the public to take advantage of a number of upcoming opportunities to review and comment on the draft Moscow Parks and Recreation Master Plan.

Parks and recreation facilities are an essential part of a healthy community environment. The purpose of the Moscow's master plan is two-fold: first, to determine the community's current and future needs for improving, expanding, and enhancing its existing parks and recreation system; second, to establish an adopted systemized approach to park planning and development.

The review and comment opportunities will be conducted in open house format with static displays of the primary information in the draft Parks and Recreation Master Plan (no formal presentation). Commission members and City staff will be on hand to answer questions and discuss plan contents.

*        Opportunity 1: Wednesday, September 4, 2013, 5:30p.m. - 7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 2nd Floor City Hall.

*        Opportunity 2: Saturday, September 7, 12:00p.m. - 3:00 p.m., Hamilton Indoor Recreation Center (HIRC)

* Opportunity 3: Starting Monday, September 9, 2013, the static Master Plan display will remain at the HIRC for public view and comment until close of business, September 30th.

Citizens will have additional opportunities to make comment at later meetings held by the Parks and Recreation Commission and the City Council, which will be noticed prior to the meetings. The draft plan will also be posted on the city's website at http://www.ci.moscow.id.us/parks-rec.
