PRESS RELEASE
Sustainable Environment Commission Seeking New Members

April 5, 2013 (Moscow, Idaho) - The City of Moscow Sustainable Environment Commission currently has three vacancies and is seeking residents who would like an opportunity to join others in promoting sound environmental management practices for the public health and safety of the citizens of Moscow. Interested volunteers don't have to have an environmental background; just an active interest in serving the City along with a can-do attitude is all that's required.

The mission of the Sustainable Environment Commission is to gather, assess and evaluate information pertaining to the health and environmental concerns of the City. The Commission makes recommendations to the City Council on pesticide/chemical use, air quality, water quality, waste stream and other health and environmental issues as may be directed by the City. The Commission is involved in numerous educational and community awareness events throughout the year, as they strive to educate residents about pesticide education, energy conservation, and multimodal transportation.

Meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month at 7:15 p.m. in the Mayor's Conference Room of City Hall, located at 206 E. Third Street.

For additional information, please contact Tom Scallorn, Water/Wastewater Manager at 208.883.7107.
