William "Randy" Humble, 60, of Moscow
Larger-than-life Moscow resident, Randy Humble left this world Saturday, Sept. 9, 2012, doing what he loved most, soaring the Palouse skies.
He was born in Asheboro, N.C., to Ben and Bobby Humble. He grew up in Davidson, N.C., where he developed an early love for all things outdoors: hunting, fishing and waterskiing.
After serving in the 82nd Airborne, he moved to his dream state, Idaho. He studied wildlife management at the University of Idaho, spending a great deal of time in Idaho's vast wilderness. Aviation was not only a part of his vibrant personality, but also a way to explore the remote beauty of the Northwest. He later became a master carpenter, and through the course of his life, he built more than 100 homes, all as unique and bold as his spirit.
Lake Coeur d'Alene is where he felt truly at home. There were no strangers, and everyone was welcome on his dock. He taught many children to waterski, and he often took visitors on flights aboard his plane.
Randy was extremely proud of his four children and all of their endeavors. He talked fondly about the way his children enriched his life. He is survived by his children, Corie Humble-Cefalu, David Humble, Trevor Humble and Sam Humble. He was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny, his mother, Bobby, and his father, Ben.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date, and it will most likely involve a watermelon.

"We're a town of about 23,000 with 10,000 college students. The college students are not very active in local elections (thank goodness!)."
