[Vision2020] Jesus Had a Wife, Newly Discovered Gospel Suggests or Now The Fin Begins

Although ‘The DaVinci Code’ may have been based on the Baigent, Leigh, et al book, for those interested in the ‘real story’ look into ‘The Tomb of God: The Body of Jesus and the Answer to a 2,000 Year Old Mystery’ by Andrews and Schellenberger. It is probably the most encyclopedic coverage of the history/hoax/whatever concerning the Roslyn, The Knights Templar, the Albigensiens, and all the stuff concerning the famous treasure and heresy of the Albigensiens. By the way, the painting that was involved in the original plot has nothing to do with DaVinci. Rather, it is Nicolas Poussin’s famous ‘Bergers en arcadie’ which also hangs in the Louvre. It has a pentagram form, canted at a small number of degrees (1.634 or whatever) based on the Golden Mean.( Most baroque paintings are formally structured on the Golden Triangle in a different way, not on the occult symbol of the pentagram.) The BBC did a nice TV series about that mystery back in the mid-70s, which is where I first learned of it. Unfortunately ‘The Tomb of God’ is rather poorly written in the literary sense, but there’s a lot of fun stuff in there, and has some plates with the Poussin and the geometry behind it. The village in France where Jesus’ remains are thought to be buried (according to this admittedly far-fetched scheme) is evidently quite a tourist location, all centered around this nonsense. Worth a visit though I’ll bet, for the confit de canard and cassoulet if nothing else.

Some of the old cults implicated in the heresy were said to ‘worship’ the Virgin Mary, or the devil, or both, or…. Oh. It’s so confusing. Hell… just go see the movie.

"Googling 'The canon of the bible' evolution can provide some insight. To those interested, the reading is fascinationing."--w.

Ahh yes, nobody can doubt the truthiness of The Gospel according to Google and the Holy Book of Wikipedia.

The DaVinci Code is actually based on a book called "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" by Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh, and Henry Lincoln. I have a copy somewhere, <snip>
