[Vision2020] Wealthiest members of Congress have prospered since recession

Boohoo, poor members of Congress, how on Earth do they get by on just $300,000 a year plus every possible benefit 99.99% of other Americans will never see. I think they should have to give up all their wealth and settle for $250,000 a year for the rest of their life if they want to serve in high political office. For the same reason that judges should not be allowed to accept donations from oil companies and lobbyists or side jobs with law firms, so should members or Congress banned. You serve the people 100% or you shouldn't serve at all. If you cannot make ends meet on $300,000 a year you have no business managing America's finances or making decisions for other people. 
 
When Congress fails, don't rehire them unless you want a Congress that keeps failing.

Wealthiest members of Congress have prospered since recessionThe wealthiest one-third of lawmakers were largely immune from the Great Recession, taking the fewest financial hits and watching their investments quickly recover and rise to new heights. But more than 20 percent of the members of the current Congress — 121 lawmakers — appeared to be worse off in 2010 than they had been six years earlier, and 24 saw their reported wealth slide into negative territory.

Those findings emerge from an ongoing examination of congressional finances by The Washington Post, which analyzed thousands of financial disclosure forms and public records for all members of Congress.
