I do not know any of the facts. I am not sure any kind of objective
investigation can be made by the WSU athletic department since the are
Lech's colleagues.
The problem of the vagueness of the meaning of word "abuse" and the problem
of allegiances and fear of reprisals also complicate any investigation. I
haven't privy to any athletic department accusations of a abuse, but have
been to a number of allegations of workplace abuses -- the "fact finding"
that sometimes occurs there is anything but.
However, if one Googles the Texas Tech matter, there is clear and cogent
evidence that abuse occurred there at Leach's direction {and direct
action). Regardless of whether abuse has occurred at WSU, hiring someone
where the past evidence was so clear was hardly a wise decision. I hope
college presidents are going to be much more careful especially after the
Graham Spanier matter.
If I remember correctly, Leach has a golden parachute if he is fired
betimes by WSU.
