[Vision2020] The Story of the Christ Church Cathedral

Good question.

There has been and continues to be heated discussion over whether any of
the major Christian sects today resemble anything even remotely envisioned
by Jesus, who was a wayfaring, person to person, message promulgator.   The
argument is that the message of Christ, especially those found in the
Synoptic [earliest] gospels was misunderstood/corrupted by others and used
by the power hungry such as [St.] Paul to fashion a world tastes.

There is some scholarly, yet fascinating work done by a group of noted
scholars, The Jesus Seminar, who maintain among other things that only
about 15% of the words uttered by Jesus in The New Testament, were actually
probably uttered by him -- the rest were either misunderstandings or
deliberate corruptions/falsifications.
