Good question.<br><br>There has been and continues to be heated discussion over whether any of the major Christian sects today resemble anything even remotely envisioned by Jesus, who was a wayfaring, person to person, message promulgator. The argument is that the message of Christ, especially those found in the Synoptic [earliest] gospels was misunderstood/corrupted by others and used by the power hungry such as [St.] Paul to fashion a world tastes.<br>
<br>There is some scholarly, yet fascinating work done by a group of noted scholars, The Jesus Seminar, who maintain among other things that only about 15% of the words uttered by Jesus in The New Testament, were actually probably uttered by him -- the rest were either misunderstandings or deliberate corruptions/falsifications.<br>

Of course it doesn’t mention the tens of thousands of dollars thrown away on blueprints for a grand gothic cathedral which included a medieval dining hall. It’s all about the image, the props, the backdrops for the would be Bishop of Moscow. And, of course the current congregation doesn’t meet in a chicken coop, they meet in the Logos School gym.</span></div>
