Pam Brunsfeld, University of Idaho Stillinger Herbarium Curator and
Manager, will lead a workshop on identifying the native beard-tongues, or
the genus *Penstemon* on *Thursday, June 28*, 7:00 p.m. at the College of
Natural Resources building at the University of Idaho in room 209.
Diagnostic characters, to help in identifying members of this large,
diverse and beautiful group will be outlined, with representative species
available for examination. Please enter the east door of the building on

Then on *Saturday, June 30*, come out for a fun and beautiful day to look
at Penstemons and other summer wildflowers. This field trip will be led by
Pam, to the Grangeville, White Bird area. Attendance at the workshop is not
necessary to attend this trip. Meet at Eastside Marketplace in Moscow
(south end of the parking lot near Hwy 8) at 8:00 a.m. to arrange

camera. Hikes will be short and on fairly level ground. Sponsored by the
White Pine Chapter of the Idaho Native Plant Society. For more information,
