Mr. Hansen,
 
Yes, Mr. Hansen, I like it too. However, sometimes we need to think about others and not just what we want. There is NO disabled parking for the downtown businesses next to the businesses. They need to be able to drive up to the door because they cannot walk to it.
 
And where does the city government have the authority to block public access to a business? What is a pregnant woman that cannot huff it on foot two or three blocks with another child and products in tow to do? 
 
Further, downtown businesses paid for that access with taxes and fees. That is the government taking property without compensation or due process. 
 
Have you ever know any government to block road access to a business before? If they can do this, why not block off road access to Walmart?

The city has accommodated the ADA quite sufficiently, Mr. Arnold.

If you'll take the time to browse the parking spaces surrounding Farmers' Market, you will find a considerable amount of additional disabled parking made available during Farmers' Market. 

Concerning "all road access to legally operating business".  Since WHEN is that a requirement??

Are you aware of how many U.S. cities have pedestrian-only shopping districts where motor vehicles are not permitted?

The suggestion was brought up, in response to an article in today's (July 5th) Daily News, that (perhaps) Main Street (between Third and Fifth Streets) should be permanently barred from motor vehicles and, thus, creating a pedestrian-only quad.  I like it.
