PRESS RELEASE
Tree Commission Seeking Interested Residents

February 21, 2012 (Moscow, Idaho) - The City of Moscow Tree Commission currently has two vacancies and is seeking residents who would like an opportunity to join others in the preservation, protection and management of Moscow's Community Forest. Interested volunteers don't have to have a forestry background; just an active interest in serving the city along with a can-do attitude is all that's required.

The mission of the Tree Commission is to plan, establish, and help conduct a comprehensive community forestry program for the City of Moscow. By ensuring safe, healthy trees, the community forestry program will enhance the quality of life for all that live, work, and visit the community, as well as to educate the public about selecting and caring for trees appropriate to the Moscow area. The Commission is involved in numerous educational and community awareness events throughout the year, as they strive to educate residents about the Moscow Community Forestry Ordinance and its impact to local property owners.

Meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at 5:00 p.m. in the Mayor's Conference Room of City Hall, located at 206 E. Third Street.

For additional information, please contact Tom Grundin, Community Forestry Administrator at 208-883-7098.
