The following U.S. service members died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom combat operations in Afghanistan, confirmed by the Defense Department from January 27, 2012 through February 2, 2012:

Marine Lance Cpl. Edward J. Dycus, 22, of Greenville, Mississippi; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Army Brig. Gen. Terence J. Hildner, 49, of Fairfadied rhinos; assigned to the 13th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, Fort Hood, Texas.

Marine Sgt. William C. Stacey, 23, of Redding, Calif., died Jan. 31 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.  He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California.

Killed: 1,875; Wounded in action: 15,307
