This may be true if the automobile insurance amounted to nothing more than public liability (minimum required by state law).  Full comprehensive coverage is different, depending on one's policy.  The more comprehensive the coverage, the higher the premium.

However, when browsing for health insurance coverage at the online "marketplace", people generally seek a more-comprehensive policy especially, as my example reflected, if the 75 year-old "shopper" has been diagnosed with cancer.
