PRESS RELEASE
You're Invited! Moscow's Brownfields Assessment Program Kick-Off Meeting

September 28, 2011 (Moscow, Idaho) - The City of Moscow, on behalf of the Greater Moscow Area Brownfields Coalition, invites you to attend an informational kick-off meeting for the Moscow Brownfields Assessment Grant program. Please join to learn more about brownfields, this project, and the benefits available to individuals and businesses, as well as the community at-large.

Date: Thursday, October 6, 2011
Time: 5pm-7pm
Location: Council Chambers, Moscow City Hall, 206 East 3rd Street, Moscow, ID

Background: Thanks to a grant awarded by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the City of Moscow is able to help landowners with site assessments and cleanup planning activities on their property.

The kick-off meeting will introduce the overall goals of the program, the environmental site assessment process, and ways landowners can involve their property. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions and comment on the project. Come learn more about this exciting new project!

What is a brownfield?
Land is considered a brownfield by the EPA when expansion or redevelopment of the property is complicated by the presence or potential presence of hazardous substances, pollutants, or contaminants.
