Subject: Nov. 28 - Dec. 3 -- Occupy the Capitol!!

      Occupy the Capitol!

      Tell the special legislative session:
No more cuts! Tax the rich!

Come to Olympia with thousands of others feeling the pain of cuts to jobs, education, healthcare and human services.

Lawmakers are planning to slash another $2 billion. Instead, they must tax corporations and demand an end to U.S. wars that destroy lives and starve state budgets!

Rally - Demonstrate - Speak out!

Mon., Nov. 28 to Fri., Dec. 3 - and beyond!
See below for information about each day.

Join in the actions! Carpools will leave at 8:30am daily from New Freeway Hall, 5018 Rainier Ave. S. Call 206-722-6057 to reserve a seat or if you have room in your car to provide rides. On the days you can't make it, follow what's happening at www.facebook.com/SistersOrganizeforSurvival for blog reports from the frontlines in Olympia.

Occupy the Capitol: first week of demonstrations
Most activities start at 11am and are being organized by numerous unions and groups. All are welcome to participate. Each day will include at least one unified activity.

Sunday, November 27: Sleepover with Occupy Olympia
Bring your tent, warm clothes and a sleeping bag to camp out in Heritage Park next to the state capitol.

Monday, November 28: The 99% Takes Back the Capitol
Morning rallies, marches and teach-ins by The Arc, Washington Education Association, Occupy Olympia, Olympia Coalition for a Fair Budget, and American Federation of Teachers. Other day's activities coordinated by Service Employees International Union 775 and The Arc: United march around the capitol and rally in the rotunda by all groups starting at 2pm. At 7pm, Occupy Olympia is holding a fundraiser with David Rovics at Traditions. Also at 7pm, The Arc will hold a candlelight vigil at the capitol.

Tuesday, November 29: We are the 99%
Washington Community Action Network is coordinating actions that will show the face of the 99%. Meet at 11am at the Capitol Theater, then march to the Rotunda. Tell your stories, show photos, drop in on legislators. Washington State Nurses Association will lobby legislators. Washington Federation of State Workers will promote issues of medical interpreters.

Wednesday, November 30: Tax the 1 Percent!
Working Washington is leading this day to expose the banksters! Join Sisters Organize for Survival in making the call to tax the rich and the corporations. Big banks and large corporations benefit from hundreds of tax loopholes that boost their profits while our communities continue to suffer.

Thursday, December 1: Demand that Your Legislator Stand with the 99%
Legislators will be asked to sign a pledge that they will oppose additional cuts and take action against unfair tax breaks for rich corporations. The day's activities are being co-led by Washington Federation of State Employees and SEIU 1199 (hospital workers).

Friday, December 2: Our Future is at Stake
We say no to a world where children are uncertain of their next meal and unable to see a doctor when they need one. We won't stand for students being shoved into crowded classrooms, and leaving academic institutions saddled by debt and jobless. Lead organization for the day is the Children's Alliance.

      Saturday, December 3: Massive Rally!
Meet at the Capitol at 11:00 am. Join community organizations and people from all across Washington state to demand that legislators oppose more cuts, tax the rich, and call on the federal government to end U.S. wars and redirect trillions in military spending to state budgets! Coordinated by FUSE.
