[Vision2020] FW: PRESS RELEASE -- Road Closure

Heavy rain has been falling all morning on Moscow Mountain. The snowpack is absorbing most of it now, but there is a limit before massive amounts of water will be entering Paradise Creek and Missouri Flats Creek.

I hope that Moscow and points west are ready to cope with this probability in order to protect resident's property.

  Re:       Foothill Road Closure            

  Moscow, Idaho - As of 10:00 am on March 10, 2011, the North Latah County Highway District (NLCHD) is forced to close Foothill Road from the intersection of Idler's Rest Road to the intersection with Lewis Road until futher notice.  

  A significant mudslide just south of the Lewis Road intersection necessitates this closure.  As soon as weather permits and the soil stabilizes, NLCHD will begin removal of the blockage.

  Foothill Road will be closed to all but local traffic until the slide can be removed.
