[Vision2020] time to raise revenue for schools and health care?

Visionaries,

As you probably know, the Idaho Legislature is threatening another round of
draconian cuts to public education and to health services, especially for
people with disabilities or mental health needs.

Several legislators, lead by Rep. Sue Chew from Boise and Rep. Shirley Ringo
from Latah County, with the support of a bi-partisan coalition including
Rep. Tom Trail and others, think it is time we discuss options for raising
revenue.

Reps. Chew and Ringo have organized a forum in Boise tomorrow morning
(Saturday February 19) to raise awareness of possible ways to raise revenue
in these difficult times.  Dr. Don Reading, an economist, and Robert
Huntley, Boise attorney, will speak and then open up the discussion to hear
what people have to say about paying for education and for Medicaid for
developmentally delayed adults and others.  It will be at the Statehouse in
the Senate auditorium 9 AM until noon Mountain time (8 to 11 a.m. Pacific
time).

This forum will be video streamed, so folks in Latah County can watch it
live on their computers and then e-mail their comments and/or questions to
the forum presenters.
