Notice of Candidate Filing Deadline

August 24, 2011 (Moscow, Idaho) - A general election for the City of Moscow will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2011 to elect three City Council positions, each for a term of four years.

Candidates for City elected offices are required to file a Declaration of Candidacy specifying the office sought and affirming they are a qualified city elector.  Requirements to be a qualified City Elector including being 18 years of age, a U.S. citizen, address of the candidate's voter registration must match the residence address provided on the candidate's declaration, and the candidate must have resided in the city for at least 30 days prior to submitting their declaration.  The Declaration must be accompanied by a nonrefundable filing fee of $40, a petition of candidacy signed by at least five qualified city electors with the signatures verified by the Latah County Clerk's office.

The deadline for filing Declarations of Candidacy is Friday, September 9, at 5 p.m.  Declarations of Candidacy are available at the City of Moscow City Hall, Office of the City Clerk at 206 E. 3rd Street from the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
