PRESS CONFERENCE SCHEDULED - 12 PM

August 23, 2011 (Moscow, Idaho) - The Moscow Police Department will hold a press conference today, August 26, 2011 at 12 noon in City Hall Council Chambers located at 206 E Third Street, Moscow, Idaho. Acting Chief of Police Lieutenant David Lehmitz will update the media and public on the status of the ongoing investigation regarding the events of Monday night. At 11:30 p.m. on August 22, 2011, the Moscow Police Department responded to a shooting on south Lilly Street.  Upon arrival, officers found a 22 year old female deceased.  Subsequent investigation led to the issuance of an arrest warrant for Ernesto A. Bustamante.
At approximately 7:45 a.m. on August 23, 2011, law enforcement served a search warrant on room 213 at the University Inn Best Western hotel and found the body of Ernesto A. Bustamante who appears to have died from a self- inflicted gunshot wound.
The investigation into the incident continues with the assistance of the Latah County Sheriff's Office and the Idaho State Police.
The female victim's identity will not be available until family notifications have taken place.
