"Increasing the tax on the super rich will not work, They make up only a small percentage of what is needed."

The top five percent pay 60% of the national income tax.  That has been said and reiterated so many times that is has become a mantra for those demanding that the tax structure be modified.

It should also be noted that the top five percent earn 80% of the national income.

Translation:  Sixty percent of national income tax is paid on 80% of national income.

So, let's balance the books, ok?
