Free Public Activities at the Moscow Food Co-op in May

The Moscow Food Co-op is proud to present entries for the City of Moscow’s Wisecape Award Program in the Co-op deli beginning Friday, May 6.  Each year, the Wisescape Award Program solicits landscape nominations from homeowners, local businesses, or apartment complexes.  Wisescape began in 2008 to promote water efficient landscaping on the Palouse, and to recognize individuals who set examples for aesthetics and resource conservation. 

The Co-op is located at 121 East Fifth Street in downtown Moscow.

Music

The Moscow Food Co-op’s Tuesday Night Music Series concerts are held every Tuesday from 5–7 p.m.  The free, outdoor live music performances coincide with the Co-op’s Tuesday Grower’s Market in the parking lot, which runs every Tuesday from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.

May 24: Gypsy Dawg of Moscow, Idaho.  Jazz.

May 31: Dan Maher of Pullman, Wash.  Folk.



Co-op Kids! 

Children and their caregivers are welcome for the following Co-op Kids activities.  Co-op Kids meets weekly and all events are all free, with snacks and materials donated by the Moscow Food Co-op.

9 a.m., Tuesday, May 3:  Meet at the Moscow Food Co-op Café to make bath salts.

9 a.m., Tuesday, May 10: Meet at the Moscow Food Co-op Café for Musikgarden with Ms. Gillian.

9 a.m., Tuesday, May 17:  Meet at the Moscow Food Co-op Café to make local bean and grain mosaics. 

9 a.m., Tuesday, May 24: Meet at the Moscow Food Co-op Café for fresh produce.

9 a.m., Tuesday, May 31: Meet at Friendship Square to for chalk art.

Co-op Mamas and Papas Group

The Co-op Mamas and Papas group for expecting parents and parents of newborns meets each Wednesday at 9:30 – 11 a.m. in the Co-op Deli.  In May, meet for conversation and informal talks by experienced parents and experts.  Complementary beverages will be provided.  Those interested in receiving notifications about speakers and special coupons can sign up for our email list by sending a message to babies at moscowfood.coop.
