I post this in response to the article you posted given the article
mentioned the often asserted claim that freshwater in large quantities
injected into the North Atlantic will disrupt ocean circulation,
resulting in a colder climate for Northern Europe, which relies on
warm ocean water from lower latitudes to moderate temperatures.

Rahmstorf, one of the world's leading scientific researchers into
oceans and climate, claims in an interview with Gwynne Dyer, author of
"Climate Wars," that may still be available from the source listed
above, that by the time major disruption of ocean currents in the
North Atlantic happen due to global warming, Europe will be so much
warmer that unusually severe cold weather in this part of the world
will not occur.
