Incumbents fare the best in annual student mock election

October 29, 2010

Incumbents largely came out on top in the Moscow League of Women Voters'
annual student mock election this week. Elementary, junior high and high
school students across Latah County turned out to practice voting and
express their political opinions. The league posted the mock election
results online Thursday afternoon. Results for contested races are below:


U.S. races

- U.S. Senate - Mike Crapo, Republican, 1,084 votes; Tom Sullivan,
Democrat, 660; Randy Berquist, Constitution, 178.

- U.S. House 1st District - Walt Minnick, Democrat, 814; Raul Labrador,
Republican, 574; Dave Olson, independent, 368; Mike Washburn, Libertarian,
158.


State races

- Governor - C.L. "Butch" Otter, Republican, 1,159; Keith Allred,
Democrat, 813; Ted Dunlap, Libertarian, 179; Jana Kemp, independent, 116;
Pro-Life, independent, 137.

- Lieutenant governor - Brad Little, Republican, 953; Eldon Wallace,
Democrat, 628; Paul Venable, Constitution, 231.

- Secretary of state - Ben Ysursa, Republican, 485; Mack Sermon, Democrat,
417.

- State controller - Donna Jones, Republican, 499; Bruce Robinett,
Democrat, 410.

- Superintendent of public instruction - Tom Luna, Republican, 475; Stan
