[Vision2020] Unconfirmed Rumors About Latah Republicans Repeated

In part, I asked Roger:
"Roger, is your denial that the conversation between Paula Bauer (who we all know tells lies -- that's how she got the Bouma Prayer Room at the Nazarene Church on primary day) & Bill Goesling took place an official one? IOW, are you speaking for Mr. Goesling? If so, why can't he speak for himself?"

In fairness, while we heard the denial first from Roger, this comes straight from the horse's mouth in today's Daily News:
_____
Pro-choice with reservations

Recently, Vera White in her INK column suggested I had changed my position on abortion under pressure from Paula Bauer of the Gresham Bouma campaign. First, there was no pressure; and second, I have not changed my position.

For the record, I am pro-choice with important reservations, despite that issue having no bearing whatsoever on my candidacy for District 2, Latah County Commissioner.

My reservations are the same ones most reasonable people have. For instance, most would agree, abortion should not be a primary means of birth control. Beyond that, I believe the procedure is a medical option to be discussed between a woman and her physician. The Supreme Court has long ago provided both parties in the doctor/patient relationship with the right to choose conscientiously whether or not it is a procedure they will undertake.

More importantly, as a candidate for the Latah County Commission, my opinion on abortion is irrelevant.

Small, community newspapers benefit from a gossipy, social scene columnist and the Moscow-Pullman Daily News is no exception. Such writers generate provocative copy that gets people talking and thinking more about the people and politics of their community. Often, this occurs without fact finding or legitimate confirmation because that is the role they play.

Personally, I want to thank Vera White and the MPDN for giving me a chance to remind voters to study the candidates, understand the important, relevant issues, and vote for those candidates who you believe can best lead Latah County in these profoundly challenging economic times. With your vote, I believe I can do just that. Join me at the polls on Nov. 2.

And if Vera or any voter needs the facts, contact me at www.bill goesling.com.

Bill Goesling, Candidate for District 2 Latah County Commissioner, Moscow

Saundra
Mine was not an official response. Bill told me that he never talked to Paula. That is good enough for me.
