Hard to beat the dignified subtlety of such a campaign. I understand that the follow up is something along the lines of "get on board with our wacky agenda or we'll torture your children and murder your pets (pets and progeny increasing ones carbon foot print and all)" Pythonesque indeed!

On a not related note concerning the not director, it's refreshing to see Franny practice what she preaches by not flying all over the globe to promote her various projects ala the hypocritical Algore. Oh wait... I guess that dictum is just for the rest of us.

Look, instead of tap-dancing about how my quick little blurb that I wrote up in an off-hand way that means jack shit about anything, really, is factually incorrect, why don't you watch the film and let me know what you think?

The original link has been made "private", so it doesn't work any more. I don't know if this means that the people who made this film are taking it down because it wasn't a good idea, or if it's simply a problem at YouTube.

  Here's another link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7awFypTnrOw

Failing that, try typing "10:10 no pressure" into the search bar and look for another copy. This is a video they put a lot of money into, and that they released publicly themselves. They *want* people to watch it.

So, give the film the old college try. It's 3:59 long, it won't take that much time away from more important things. It's actually a well-made little film, and yes - it's intent (I certainly hope) is to be funny and that they are not exactly serious about their method of quelling dissent. But I can't discuss it with you (or anyone else) if you refuse to watch it.

Is anyone out there actually following these conversations? If you've read this far, please, ignore my overly gruff tone and just watch the film. I'm not asking for much here, people.

I did a bit of research into this film "No Pressure" and discovered another error in your post.

Not only is director Franny Armstrong not a "guy," she did not direct the film you reference.

The director of the 10:10 campaign film, "No Pressure," intended as "a funny and satirical tongue-in-cheek little film in the over-the-top style of Monty Python or South Park" as the reference at the website below indicates, was not the director of "The Age of Stupid," Franny Armstrong. It was directed by Dougal Wilson.

I just stumbled upon this (may contain disturbing images):

It's a video about the "10:10 campaign" that encourages people to cut
their carbon footprints by 10%, with a rather remarkable punishment for
those who aren't willing to do so.

This isn't a small-time production, either. It's directed by the guy
who directed The Age of Stupid, it's written by the screenwriters that
wrote "Four Weddings", it has a soundtrack provided by Radiohead, and it
has a cameo by Gillian Anderson of X Files fame.

While I'm not blind to the humor involved, is this really the message we
want to get across? Play ball or die? I mean, I'm willing to conserve
energy and reduce gasoline usage without death threats. I just don't
think that "climate change" is necessarily the Armageddon it's made out
to be, and this makes me wonder about the people pushing that particular
      agenda.

Anyway, take a look and let us know what you think.

      P. S. I'm *really* hoping that Ted didn't get issued one of those red
      buttons...
