Actually, Carl, we have no cell phones as reception here is just not happening! However, we have an old rotary dial in the bedroom which doesn't rely on electricity! It was the only bright spot in the whole"no electricity" mess (other than the creative lunch we cooked on the woodstove from the junk that defrosted in the small freezer)....

  Still, as of 3:08 pm without power at my place.  I live 10 feet from the public library, and their power came back hours ago.  Life isn't fair.  Thought I'd call Avista to see if I could get an estimated time, then remembered my phone wouldn't work, and I am one of the three remaining people in the country without a cell phone, the other two live in Nort Dakota and Louisisana.

  I hope all of you escaped the wind storm last night with little or no damage.  I've been here not quite nine years, and this was the worst one I've seen -- we may have had stronger winds before, but these lasted for hours.  The thunder, hail, and the sound of cracking branches was terribly comforting, too.  Any report on wind speeds?
