I think the title is just "Lila," and I'll bet I've had 
a copy on my bookshelf, with the same intention, longer 
than you have. I've failed to get far into it several 
times.

As for "Zen and the Art," some lit professors published 
papers on the symbolism involved in Pirsig giving the 
characters the names he did. This was good for a laugh, 
because the characters were real people and he used 
their real names.
