Free Public Activities at the Moscow Food Co-op in July




Music

The Moscow Food Co-op's Tuesday Night Music Series concerts are held every Tuesday from 5-6:30 p.m. The free, outdoor live music performances coincide with the Co-op's Tuesday Grower's Market and BBQ in the parking lot, which run every Tuesday from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. 

The Co-op is located at 121 East Fifth Street in downtown Moscow. For more information, contact Co-op music coordinator Dave Billin via email at music at moscowfood.coop.

Co-op Kids! 

Editor's note: Co-op Kids! will meet every Tuesday in July

Children and their caregivers are welcome for the following Co-op Kids activities. Co-op Kids events are all free, with snacks and materials donated by the Moscow Food Co-op.

9 a.m., Tuesday, July 6: Meet at Friendship Square in downtown Moscow to draw with sidewalk chalk. 

9 a.m., Tuesday, July 13: Meet at the Moscow Food Co-op Café to make fruit salad.

9 a.m., Tuesday, July 20: Meet at Friendship Square in downtown Moscow to create wet felting wool.

9 a.m., Tuesday, July 27: Meet at the Moscow Food Co-op Café for watercolor painting.

Co-op Mamas and Papas Group

The Co-op Mamas and Papas group for expecting parents and parents of newborns meets each Wednesday at 9:30 - 11 a.m. in the Co-op Deli. In July, meet for conversation and informal talks by experienced parents and experts. Complementary beverages will be provided. Those interested in receiving notifications about speakers and special coupons can sign up for our email list by sending a message to babies at moscowfood.coop. 

July 7: Birth Stories. Come share yours.

July 14: Speech and Language. Special guest Kathy Harrison, a speech-language pathologist  from Gritman Therapy solutions who specializes in language development.

July 21: Baby Sign with Willow Venzke who taught baby sign language to both her children.

July 28: To Read or Not to Read. How young is too young for our little ones to start reading? Should we start at six months or six years.




Co-op's Good Food Book Club in July

The Co-op's Good Food Book Club will meet Monday, July 26 from 7 - 8:30 p.m. at a private residence (email bookclub at moscowfood.coop for directions) to discuss "Food Rules:  An Eater's Manual" by Michael Pollan. "Food Rules:  An Eater's Manual"is available at BookPeople on Main Street in Moscow. Co-op Book Club members receive a 20 percent discount.
