" "That would have been prime time for him to make some points with the voting public, especially when Marilyn Beckett, Friends of the Palouse, opened the floor to any and all public officials and those running for public office. Yet, he [Bouma] sat there and said nothing."
Sounds chickenshit to me. Not surprising, however.

The INKster first thought Gresham Bouma must have been having a bad hair
day when she started hearing reports on last Saturday's appearance at
Genesee Days. (The INKster just looked at some pictures of Bouma taken
there and he doesn't have enough hair to use that as an excuse. Sorry.)
However, the more she heard about the appearance of the tea partier and
Republican candidate running for the District 6 seat held by lame-duck
Sen. Gary Schroeder, the more pathetic it became.
To set the scene, Bouma couldn't get his truck to start for the parade and
rather than miss the opportunity to participate, had some older women
pushing it while he steered. This caused one observer to comment that in
keeping with the theme "Bringing Back the Past," Bouma was doing his part
with his little depiction of "Women's Suffrage."
Some thought at one point Bouma's wife might have been behind the wheel
but at least earlier in the parade, he was steering and "barking orders"
to the women who were pushing.
Some political junkies also faulted him for "not working the crowds" along
the street.
Also last week, Intolerista's debonair leader Tom Hansen did a posting on
V2020 noting that although Bouma attended the June 1 meeting on the Upper
Lochsa Land Exchange at the 1912 Center, he didn't do or say anything
there, either.
"I guess he is under instructions not to say anything without prior
approval of his handlers," Tom concluded. "That would have been prime time
for him to make some points with the voting public, especially when
Marilyn Beckett, Friends of the Palouse, opened the floor to any and all
public officials and those running for public office. Yet, he sat there
and said nothing."

Gresham Bouma had absolutely nothing to say at the Upper Lochsa Land
Exchange meeting conducted at the 1912 Center on June 1st. His concern
amounted to nothing more than . . .
