The Upper Lochsa land exchange is a bum deal no matter how you look at it.
 It reduces serious $$$ from county tax revenues.  These tax revenues are
invested in county fire and safety programs.

One option that has been looked at lighly (and away from the public eye)
concerns one-acre lot sales to local citizens at a price of just over
$1,000 per acre.  This would ensure land maintenance in its current status
(public availability) and out of the hands of Blixseth.

Another option concerns land up the St. Joe and the local Native American
tribal council.  But that is nother discussion for another day.
